"Of the Woman Came the Beginning of Sin & Through Her We All Die" (Fundraiser Event, Hosted by Strawberry Milk)

The Strawberry Milk trio will be emceeing the fundraiser event for “Of the woman came the beginning of sin and through her we all die,” a retail/cult/feminist adaptation of the Garden of Eden set in the windowless basement of a Free People store.

The text deconstructs the idea of a "safe space" to examine if and how we can avoid hierarchizing pain in these spaces, as well as reconciling uncomfortable differences about their own privileges. The play is going up with Normal Ave in October 2019 at Medicine Show Theatre.

The piece is written by Lily Houghton, who is part of both the Youngbloods and the Flea Theater writers groups and was a recipient of the Elizabeth George Grant this spring. Kylie Brown is attached as director, and recently assisted Leigh Silverman for the first fully female/non-binary creative team on Broadway for Lifespan of a Fact. They will be continuing their development from its previous workshops at 999 Productions, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and Abrons Arts Center.

We’re excited as sh*t!

Pretty Funny Friends is a comedy party you come to after a long day of dealing with micro-aggressions & your annoying co-workers... you know the ones that:

  • Want to touch your hair

  • Use "lit" incorrectly

  • and, stalk your Instagram asking you, "why are you and all those people (Frat/Sorors) throwing up those signs..." Becky, if you don't see your way out my damn profile...

Get ready for a great time, in a close setting. Witness the growth of some of the most amazing rising Black comedians in New York City. All comics have been handpicked by visionary, stand-up comic, and producer: Glory (@gloryisprettyfunny), as well as her business partner and media specialist, Enoma Owens.
